Following the introduction of the New National Curriculum and the removal of National Curriculum levels, we are now using our own ‘Keys to Success’ to assess children’s attainment and progress. Within the National Curriculum, there are key objectives for the end of each year group. We have taken the key objectives and written these in a child friendly way to create our ‘Keys to Success.’  By achieving a secure understanding of the objectives the children will be unlocking their learning and progressing towards ‘Age Related Expectations.’

Through answering key questions and completing work in their books for example, pupils will have the opportunity to demonstrate and apply their understanding of the key objectives. When a child is beginning to show an understanding of the objective, they will have part of the title highlighted in green. As they deepen their understanding, and ‘prove’ to their class teacher that their understanding is secure, then the whole statement will be highlighted.
