Welcome to South Bersted Primary School

It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. I hope it helps to inform you about our aims and ethos, which are underpinned by the school’s Christian distinctiveness and values. At South Bersted Church of England Primary School, we strongly believe in building positive working relationships; working collaboratively with our families to provide our children with the best opportunities educationally, socially and emotionally.

At South Bersted Church of England Primary School, our school vision is underpinned by John 10;10, ‘Life in all its fullness.’ Our vision is to ensure that effective teaching and a creative, child centred approach, together with an emphasis on Christian Values and beliefs, enables all learners to embrace challenges and become life long learners in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. We are committed to enriching pupils’ moral and spiritual development inspiring all to become caring, responsible 21st century global citizens.

For our Year 6s

Throughout your days at our school
You’ve faced each challenge, step by step,
With steady courage, strength, and depth.
In SATs you will show all you can do—
Years of hard work will shine through you.

And there is still so much to come—
The buzz of Fairthorne, outdoor fun,
Where memories wait beneath the sky,
And friendships deepen as days go by.

Then soon the stage lights, costumes bright,
The class production—what a sight!
A chance to shine, to laugh, to play,
Before you head on your next way.

So take a moment, pause, and see
Just how impressive you all can be.
For every effort, big or small,
Has helped you grow and stand up tall.
As SATs approaches know that we see your journey, clear and true
And we are so incredibly proud of you.

Congratulations 🎉🎈🎊

Last week Year 4 had a visit from Specsavers Hearing Centre to support their learning in Science. After talking to the whole school in Collective Worship about how to look after our hearing they then came to Year 4 to talk about how sounds are heard through the ear. Year 4 learnt about the different parts of the ear and how the sound waves travel through the ear canal, ear drum, ear bones and cochlea before moving along the auditory nerve to the brain enabling us to hear the sound made. ...
