Welcome to South Bersted Primary School

It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. I hope it helps to inform you about our aims and ethos, which are underpinned by the school’s Christian distinctiveness and values. At South Bersted Church of England Primary School, we strongly believe in building positive working relationships; working collaboratively with our families to provide our children with the best opportunities educationally, socially and emotionally.

At South Bersted Church of England Primary School, our school vision is underpinned by John 10;10, ‘Life in all its fullness.’ Our vision is to ensure that effective teaching and a creative, child centred approach, together with an emphasis on Christian Values and beliefs, enables all learners to embrace challenges and become life long learners in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. We are committed to enriching pupils’ moral and spiritual development inspiring all to become caring, responsible 21st century global citizens.

Last week Year 4 spent the day working to understand what life was like in Britain before the Roman's arrived.

They measured and drew a plan for roundhouses, with beds, a hearth and storage areas.

They made a wattle fence using willow

Finally, they made their own roundhouses and positioned them into a Celtic settlement

Last week Year 4 spent the day working to understand what life was like in Britain before the Romans arrived. 

They measured and drew a plan for roundhouses, with beds, a hearth and storage areas.

They made a wattle fence using willow

Finally, they made their own roundhouses and positioned them into a Celtic settlement

Penguin Class couldn’t believe it on Thursday morning when they came into school and found their three bears cottage has been destroyed! They looked for clues and worked out that it must have been Goldilocks because she loves porridge. They created wanted posters to try to catch her by drawing and describing her and writing simple sentences using their phonics sounds. They also made porridge with Mrs Rogers and they were kind enough to make a spare bowl for Goldilocks in case she was hungry! ... See MoreSee Less

Penguin Class couldn’t believe it on Thursday morning when they came into school and found their three bears cottage has been destroyed! They looked for clues and worked out that it must have been Goldilocks because she loves porridge. They created wanted posters to try to catch her by drawing and describing her and writing simple sentences using their phonics sounds. As in our vision, we aim to develop the 'whole child' giving children a range of experiences to develop resilience, determination and the confidence to conquer challenges.
