Today we received a prize from Better Planet Schools for our module on 'Travel and Transport.' This included lots of work by the whole school with Bikeability, road safety, walk to school week and work by the Eco Council on promoting safer travel. Everyone was very excited when it arrived as it was lots of things to help nature on our grounds. It included a hedgehog house, a ladybird house and a solitary beehive.
A big thank you to Mrs Evans for all of her continued work to ensure we are an eco-school.

Well done to Mrs Evans for supporting the school community in this important venture.

Last week, we were visited by Bee Keeper - Jamie Leeper - this was part of the Year 2 topic: Why Are Bees Important? He showed us his equipment and discussed how he safely handles the bees; he talked about the jobs of the different types of bees and even brought in one of his hives to show us the queen bee and how they work together to create the comb and honey.

Thank you Jamie, the children absolutely loved this visit!

On Wednesday all classes across the school took part in a Fit4All session. During the sessions the children learnt about the effects of exercise on their body and how to stay healthy. They explored the difference in their pulse before and after exercise, considered different food groups and whether foods should be eaten
every day, sometimes, or as a treat and learnt about the importance of sleep and hygiene in keeping us healthy. The sessions were a fun and active way to consider these important themes.
